Deja will always hold a special place in my heart, but I think that the way my tastes have shifted if I came across the band now with fresh eyes, The Devil and God would probably be my favorite. The unintelligible track on Daisy is super annoying, and honestly kind of insulting. I've resigned myself to the fact that we'll never get another Deja Entendu, nor even a Your Favorite Weapon, out of these guys; but although Devil&God and Daisy have grown on me, sometimes it seems like they're not even trying. I like Not Without A Fight, but it's certainly no Coming Home. But for me, Coming Home has become one of those albums I can't really listen to unless I'm alone and can spend an hour doing nothing but singing, so it's not exactly a fair comparison there. When I Hit The Ground -- love it. I do have an unusually large soft spot for this band though (including The Early November), with The Mother The Mechanic and The Path being another album (er, triple-album) I can't listen to while doing anything else. I didn't know Cartel had a new album. That's exciting, especially if it's more like Chroma than the self-titled album. Anyway, bravo for another annual best-of list!
